360° films are recordings where the camera views the entire scene, looking in every direction at the same time. These can be viewed on a computer screen or smart device, where the user can choose in which direction to look. Or, for a truly immersive experience, you can use a VR headset. This makes it a really exciting, shareable format for tours of interesting places, like this tour of a real working science lab that we created for our friends at The Open University.
Use your cursor to drag the picture left, right, up or down, and see what you can discover in the Life, Health and Chemical Sciences lab.
When viewed from within YouTube’s smartphone app, you can look around by physically pointing your device left, right, up or down to survey the scene. 360° video can also be viewed using VR headsets such as Samsung VR, Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard. We can even create branded devices for use with a smartphone – a great freebie and talking point for your next event. Get in touch to find out more.
